Total Solar Eclipse

In the Hindu tradition of India, at the time of an eclipse, people bathe in the sacred rivers. They do charitable acts. It is said that those who do mediation and ceremony at the time of the eclipse derive great benefits. It is said that these people receive the blessings of the gods and attain perfection quickly. ~ hinduism.co.za

 

In Buddhist tradition, eclipses are observed as high holy days because they amplify our prayers and intent exponentially. What we hold in our thought and intention at these times reverberates throughout time, space and all dimensions. ~ Allison Rae

Many ancient cultures referred to the Total Solar Eclipse as “The Eye of God.” In the Egyptian culture, The Eye of Horus was an ancient amulet for protection, strength and health. The Left Eye of Horus symbolized the Moon and the Right Eye symbolized the Sun. The Epyptian Book of the Dead states: “when the Right Eye and Left Eye of Horus become One, all will be revealed.”

 

The term eclipse is derived from the ancient Greek and is translated as: “I cease to exist, or I am absent.” A very good time to mediate and feel the ego slip away, you will have

celestial wind at your back for this purpose.

 

A Solar Eclipse is basically an especially powerful new Moon, where we plant seeds for not only the coming month, but the next six months, and even the next 18 years. It’s an excellent time to set intentions and set into motion new projects. Metaphysically, the winking out of the sun means that we experience a full 24-hour day in 6 minutes 39 seconds. A full 24-hour day injected into a 24-hour day. A time-compression chamber.

 

The next eclipse in this family will be August 2, 2027. This eclipse is longer in time, and more central in space than any other will be in the 21^st century. From an astrological perspective, the length of a total eclipse in minutes determines the number of years the eclipse has global effect. What you seed now will reverberate forward in time through then—18 years from now.
